Correa pulchella (Pink Australian Fuchsia) - Most common Correa, this selection grows 3 feet tall by 5 feet spread. The dense foliage is green above and gray-green below, which makes this plant greener than the other Correa varieties. This variety is also valuable for its low spreading habit. Gardeners enjoy the long bloom season of the light pink flowers, winter through spring. Plant in part sun with occasional summer water. It is tolerant of calcareous soils and does well exposed coastal situations. It is hardy to about 20 degrees F. Correa....after José Francisco Correa de Serra, Portuguese botanist pulchella....beautiful
The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens in the Santa Barbara area. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information about this plant, even if they disagree with what we have written.
